Lana Del Rey is sharing a recent good deed.
On Sunday, October 25, the “Young and Beautiful” singer uploaded a video via her Instagram Stories, filming herself driving through Highland Park in Los Angeles, when she came across a woman who held out a sign asking for money to help her leave an abusive relationship.
Del Rey, 41, recorded herself listening along to Tate McRae’s song “Rubberband” when she came across the woman, rolled down her window and handed over what appeared to be a $100 banknote.
“Try and stay away,” she advised the woman, who was not visible in the singer’s video. “Be careful.”
The woman responded to Del Rey’s kind gesture, “God bless you. Thank you so much,” and asked the singer for her name, to which Del Rey responded, “Lana.”
Following the exchange, Del Rey addressed the camera, saying, “I wasn’t expecting that. [She] said fleeing an abusive relationship.”
“When you’re listening to Tate’s song about Highland when you’re sitting at a light on Highland and a woman sticks a sign on your window that says ‘trying to stay out of an abusive relationship,’” Del Rey wrote over the video.
Del Rey’s sweet show of support to the woman in need comes just a month after she celebrated her second wedding anniversary with alligator tour guide Jeremy Dufrene. The pair tied the knot in Des Allemands, Louisiana, on September 26, 2024.
The “Summertime Sadness” singer’s father, Robert Grant, walked her down the aisle. Her mother, Patricia Ann Hill, sister, Caroline Grant, and brother, Charlie Hill-Grant, all attended the ceremony.
Del Rey marked the couple’s second anniversary with an Instagram upload last month featuring various photos and videos of her and Dufrene, 51.
“Hi husband, happy second anniversary… Thank you for making everywhere I’ve ever lived feel like home again. And also to our lil fam … literally everything we do is the best,” she captioned the post, which contained photos from the couple’s wedding, a close-up of her ring and a clip of their first kiss after tying the knot.
Dufrene posted an anniversary post of his own via Instagram, capturing sweet moments between him and his wife, including a photo of them standing at the altar at their wedding.
He captioned the post, “Happy Anniversary to the most Beautiful and Precious lil wife. I love you so much❤️.”
