It was an emotional scene Friday at the PMAC in Baton Rouge, where Olivia “Livvy” Dunne and the fellow seniors on LSU’s gymnastics team were honored as they wrap up their collegiate careers.
In a new video posted Saturday on her TikTok page, the fifth-year athlete and social media phenom waved to the crowd while sharing warm embraces with loved ones and personnel on the mat as she maneuvered with a leg brace.
“LSU you’ve been so good to me!” Dunne captioned the video.
On the eve of the senior night celebrations, Dunne revealed she was battling an injury and would be unable to perform in the meet against Georgia.
“Hi friends! Unfortunately I’ve been dealing with an avulsion fracture of my patella and will not be able to compete on senior night,” Dunne posted in an Instagram Story Thursday.
“It absolutely breaks my heart to not get the opportunity to compete in the PMAC one last time. Tiger fans, you’ve been so good to me! Thank you for the endless support and as always Geaux Tigers! – Liv.”
Dunne, 22, has not competed since Jan. 24.
The No. 2-ranked Tigers downed No. 10 Georgia, 198.575-197.175, setting a new program record score in LSU’s final home meet of the season.
The Tigers visit Auburn Friday before the SEC Championships begin the following week.
The LSU gymnastics team is looking to defend the program’s first-ever national title.
Dunne, one of the most prominent faces of the NIL era, announced her return to LSU over the summer.
“I’ve really found the love, my love for the sport again last year, I’d say. So that’s one of the main reasons why I wanted to come back,” she told The Post’s Jenna Lemoncelli in September.
Dunne has carved a unique path for herself beyond gymnastics.
The New Jersey native became a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model in 2023 and has partnered with numerous brands, including Vuori.
Dunne made waves with her personal life in 2023 when Pirates pitcher Paul Skenes confirmed their relationship.
She supported him at several Pirates games last year when he was bumped up to the majors.
Skenes, 22, is the reigning NL Rookie of the Year.
