Love Island USA’s Gabriel Vasconcelos questioned how taboo sex is in America after discussing his hookups in the villa.
“I was not worried about anybody else [having sex in the villa]. I was focusing on myself in the moment,” Gabriel said on the Thursday, June 25, episode of “The Viall Files” podcast.
Despite other couples having sex around him, Gabriel revealed he didn’t hear anything, adding, “I was not hearing anyone. As you see, I was the most active in the place. … Because Trinity [Tatum] was sleeping next to me. One day Bryce [Dettloff] told me, ‘Bro, Trinity couldn’t stop laughing. She went to the bathroom because she was hearing y’all.’”
Gabriel’s sexual history has been a major topic in the villa before his controversial elimination. While discussing the interest in his love life, Gabriel addressed the reaction from Americans watching the show.
“Showing our affection and kissing everyone — or even having sex — is not a big thing for us Brazilians,” he added on Thursday. “We see all of this as a normal thing.”
He continued: “The people need to understand us too. Because I come from a different background and a different culture.”
Gabriel previously turned heads when the Islanders had to read out sex facts and figure out which of them it was about during a challenge. One of the revelations was that an Islander slept with someone in their 50s.
“I was out and I was having a good time with my friends. She started talking to me and she was hot as f*** for her age,” Gabriel, who is 26 years old, said about his encounter with the older woman. “We had a good night together. She had a lot of experience.”
After his elimination was met with backlash off screen following a group vote, host Ariana Madix had to speak out due to many viewers claiming the voting process is rigged.
The host, 40, replied to an Instagram comment after Caleb McDaniel and Sol Dean were not announced as a top couple during the Thursday, June 18, episode of the show — despite an online campaign for the season 8 bombshells.
“Unfortunately, they were not in the top 4,” Ariana wrote in response to a message that read, “They @loveislandusa messing up the show.” Ariana also “liked” a comment which stated that “legally” production “can’t tamper with results” despite the speculation on social media.
