The 2025 Crown the Lowcountry Scholarship Pageant, a preliminary competition for Miss South Carolina and Miss America, was held on Sept. 28, at the historic Lourie Theater in St. George. Eleven Miss contestants and five Teen contestants competed in five categories: Private Interview, On-Stage Question, Fitness, Talent and Evening Gown.
Two young women were crowned in the Miss division and each received a $750 college scholarship. Both winners will advance to compete at the Miss South Carolina competition next June in Columbia.
Miss Lowcountry 2025 – Constance Mixon
Constance Mixon, age 21, was crowned Miss Lowcountry 2025. A standout in the talent portion, Mixon performed a dynamic clogging routine, which also earned her the Overall Talent Award. Her Community Service Initiative, “One Heart Every Hand,” was inspired by her mother, who was born with a congenital heart disease. Constance’s platform emphasizes the importance of family support in overcoming health challenges.
Miss Summerville 2025 – Hannah Pond
Hannah Pond, a 24-year-old middle school teacher, earned the title of Miss Summerville 2025 and was also recognized with the Overall Interview Award. For her talent, she performed an engaging musical theater piece. Her Community Service Initiative, “Radiating Resilience: Aiding Those Experiencing Hardship,” focuses on supporting individuals facing life challenges through community empowerment.
Teen Division Winners
In the Teen division, two outstanding young women were crowned and received $250 scholarships, along with paid entry into Miss South Carolina’s Teen 2025 competition.
Miss Lowcountry’s Teen 2025 – Carmen Scott
Carmen Scott, an 18-year-old freshman at Central Carolina Technical College, was crowned Miss Lowcountry’s Teen 2025. She performed an energetic jazz dance routine for the talent competition. Carmen’s Community Service Initiative, “Unsung Heroes,” aims to support military families and recognize the sacrifices they make.
