The Los Angeles Rams are now officially in training camp, which is an extremely exciting time of the year for fans.
It’s also exciting for players—for the most part, at least. While these players are surely looking forward to another season, this also marks the start of many months often spent away from their families.
Nobody knows this better than Rams star quarterback, Matthew Stafford. He’s entering his 18th NFL season, all of which have meant the reigning NFL MVP has had to leave his wife, Kelly, for at least some time (although they got to attend Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding together earlier this month).
Matthew and Kelly now have four daughters together (all of whom are between six and nine years old), which makes this annual goodbye even more difficult.
Kelly captured what appeared to be a temporary goodbye between Stafford and his four daughters with an Instagram post earlier in the month. The star quarterback was hugging all four of them at once, and the post was captioned, “18th nfl camp ❤️”.
Kelly Stafford hinted at several reasons why her husband’s NFL tenure might end sooner rather than later during her appearance on “The Cutting Edge” podcast earlier this month.
“One of the biggest things Matthew can’t stand is that he can’t come to [his kids’] weekend games,” Kelly said.
