The man with the best nickname on the team is one of the few Knicks who has made it this far relatively unscathed in the court of public opinion.

Mikal Bridges? He’s caused night sweats among a lot of Knicks fans with his inconsistency. OG Anunoby? Yikes, that contract!

Karl-Anthony Towns? On nights when he doesn’t meet his averages of 24.2 points and 13.3 rebounds there’s an awful lot of fans on social media who gather in prayer circles to mourn the absence of Donte DiVincenzo. Mitch Robinson? Wake me if he’s healthy for the playoffs.

Hell, even Jalen Brunson (before the ankle bent backward like a tortilla) had started to hear some ever-so-subtle grumbling, since he’s the team’s best player and its captain, and has played in every one of the seven games that give Knicks fans relentless gastralgia — the seven games (all losses) against the Celtics, Cavaliers and Thunder.
