Eighteen young women took the stage at the Carl Perkins Civic Center on Sunday evening to compete for the coveted title of Miss Jackson Volunteer and Miss Madison County Volunteer.
Graceyn Van Winkle won the Miss Jackson Volunteer’s title and Madison Ellis won Miss Madison County, each receiving a $1,000 scholarship from an anonymous donor.
Competition divisions included Miss, Teen Volunteer, and Iris Teen, and nearly every contestant went home with an honor or recognition.
The no-experience required competition is the preliminary pageant to Miss Tennessee Volunteer and Miss America Volunteer pageants. competition scores are based on four components, each worth 25% of a contestant’s overall score: fitness, talent, evening gown, and private interview.
Miss Tennessee Volunteer 2024 Hannah McKay opened the evening with the National Anthem and Miss Jackson Volunteer 2019 Kailey Jordan was the evening’s host.
A number of titleholders past and present made appearances, and before a winner was crowned, current titleholders shared their farewell speeches before the new winner was crowned.
