NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) – It was a night of glitz, glamor, and heartfelt introductions as the delegates of Miss Nebraska and Miss Nebraska Teen received the royal treatment at Venue 304.
The Red Carpet Welcome Ceremony brought out the sparkle as all 12 Miss Nebraska and 12 Miss Nebraska Teen contestants were celebrated in dazzling style.
Arriving by party bus, the delegates were greeted with cheers, handmade signs, and warm smiles from their families and their “Sparklers”.
Each delegate took a moment on the mic to introduce herself and her Sparklers, offering a touching glimpse into the friendships and memories they’ve created leading up to pageant night.
Current Miss Nebraska Raechel Warren shared an emotional reflection on her final days in the role.
“The first moment where it really hit me that I’m Miss Nebraska for four more days, and one of these lucky ladies gets to take this job and I’m excited,” said Warren. “As I mentioned tonight, I’ve been in all the rehearsals, and any one of these ladies would be an excellent representative of our state.”
Miss Nebraska’s Teen Janae Harris also shared how special the moment was for her.
“It has been amazing being in the same spot last year and sitting in those chairs that the girls are sitting in. I know that I felt nervous just introducing myself and telling a little about how I was,” said Harris. “Introducing the other girls has really flipped the switch, and it feels amazing because they all deserve it so much.”
Wednesday marked the official kickoff of the preliminary competitions, where delegates will take the stage for the first round of judging.
For more than 80 years, the Miss Nebraska Organization has provided a platform for young women to showcase their talents, leadership, and dreams.
The Miss Nebraska’s Teen competition also serves as the state qualifier for Miss America’s Teen, a branch of the Miss America Organization established in 2006.
