DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) – A Muscatine native is getting some national recognition on the Miss America Teen stage.

Recently, Avery Bradley finished in the top 11 of this year’s Miss America Teen pageant in Orlando, Fla.

On Thursday, TV6 spoke to Bradley about the experience and how she wants to use her platform to engage more girls in STEM.

“Since I could remember I have always loved math but females are very underrepresented in STEM careers and it’s so important to engage more girls in STEM,” Bradley said.

In December, TV6 spoke with Miss Illinois Teen Lucy Kuelper, who is using her platform to bring awareness to the state’s move over law.
