My Super Sweet 16 is celebrating its 20th anniversary!
The hit MTV show premiered on Jan. 18, 2005, and throughout 10 seasons, viewers watched dozens of teenagers — famous, unknown and the offspring of Hollywood’s elite — celebrate their 16th birthdays with lavish parties thrown by their parents who spared no expense.
Each episode of My Super Sweet 16 documented everything from shopping for the perfect outfit and passing out invitations to the unveiling of extravagant birthday gifts — think luxury cars and Rolex watches. But the show’s most memorable moments often showcased screaming matches and tearful tantrums between the guest of honor and their parents.
Some stars on the show leveraged their My Super Sweet 16 fame to land other reality shows, such as Cher Hubsher, who also appeared on TLC’s sMothered, and Darnell Robinson, whom viewers watched on Bravo’s The First Family of Hip Hop.
Ahead, discover what some of the most memorable faces of My Super Sweet Sixteen have been up to since the MTV show aired.
Natalie Viscuso
Natalie Viscuso appeared in season 1, episode 3 of My Super Sweet 16. She hosted a Hollywood-themed birthday party at one of her dad’s nightclubs in La Jolla, Calif. … for 1,000 of her closest friends. However, Viscuso did not invite freshmen girls to her soiree “because they cause drama.”
These days, she is the vice president of television for Vertigo Entertainment and has been dating actor Henry Cavill since at least 2021. In April 2024, the actor announced they were expecting their first child together.
Sophie Mitchell
Sophie Mitchell was the star of season 2, episode 1 of My Super Sweet 16. She hosted a Moulin Rouge-themed birthday party in West Palm Beach, Fla. for 100 guests, and fans will forever remember her for publicly uninviting her friend Maggie to her big bash while handing out invitations.
In 2021, Maggie spoke about the incident on TikTok, explaining that the fight was real — and not staged by MTV.
“I had no idea that I had been uninvited to Sophie’s party. We had gotten into a fight earlier in the day when I called her out [about] changing her personality when these cameras were around,” she said, adding, “I have to just tell you … [I] was blindsided by that attack.”
After earning her law degree from Nova Southeastern University in 2016, Sophie is now a managing attorney at the Office of Criminal Conflict and Civil Regional Counsel in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., per LinkedIn.

“They filmed me pretty much 24/7 for like two to three weeks leading up to the party,” she said. “I’m not gonna lie to you, this was a lot of work. It was also a lot of fun.”
Following My Super Sweet 16, Cher and her mom, Dawn, appeared on TLC’s sMothered and went on to launch a podcast titled Chattermouth. The reality star is now married to plastic surgeon Jared Gopman and the couple share one child: daughter Belle May.

Her party also included a special guest appearance by Pharrell Williams, who had recently signed Teyana to his record label, per the New York Post.
“Yes, people still bring [My Super Sweet 16] up,” she told the outlet in 2014. “I don’t understand how people even remember it. I think MTV is playing a lot of reruns.”
Teyana was eventually taken under Kanye West’s wing and launched to fame when she appeared in his music video for the song “Fade” in 2016. She was married to NBA star Iman Shumpert from 2016 to 2023, and the former couple share two daughters: Iman “Junie” Tayla Shumpert Jr. and Rue Rose Shumpert.
