Streaming service NBC News NOW is expanding its programming to 14 hours every weekday with a new two-hour show hosted by Christine Romans, a veteran business journalist.

Romans, who joined NBC News in 2023 after 24 years at CNN, has been promoted to chief business correspondent and will anchor a new 10 a.m. show starting this summer, NBC News announced this week.

“At a moment when economic news and the forces shaping the global economy are increasingly central to the daily news cycle, we see a clear opportunity to deepen our coverage as markets open and top stories take shape,” NBC News editorial president Rebecca Blumenstein and executive veep of programming Janelle Rodriguez told staff in a note Wednesday.

The streaming service will now air news coverage from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Eastern Time on weekdays, “delivering more original programming than any other streaming news service and further strengthening our position as a leading destination for live, breaking news,” they wrote.

NBC News NOW will also be moving to Studio 3A at 30 Rock, which was previously home to MSNBC – which was renamed MS NOW following its spin-off from NBCUniversal.

Blumenstein and Rodriguez said the move is “part of this next phase of growth,” as NBC News NOW in the first quarter notched its most-watched quarter in a year, and March marked the streamer’s strongest month since June 2025.

NBC News NOW’s coverage of the Artemis II moon mission last week drew its largest Friday primetime audience on record, according to the execs’ note.

Last November, MSNBC rebranded to MS NOW and moved under parent company Versant after Comcast spun off cable assets including Oxygen, E!, SYFY and the Golf Channel.

In January, shares in Versant slumped 13% in its market debut as investors questioned whether traditional TV businesses will be able to survive the streaming era.
