Bella Baby photographers work with nurses, staffers and families to provide convenient, natural and comfortable newborn photography without the usual rigmarole of portraiture.
The 15-minute photoshoots are free, and families receive a same-day, password-protected, shareable slideshow that remains live for two weeks so they have time to decide whether to proceed with a purchase.

Advance registration is available at bellababyplan.com/pre-register/ to guarantee a photographer’s availability, although it is not required.
Families can choose from options ranging from one sheet of $35 non-replicable prints to the nearly $2,000 Heirloom Package.
Two popular packages are the $450 Hospital Bundles that include digital downloads both in color and black-and-white, three books, three sets of prints, and a downloadable music slideshow; and the nearly $1,000 Baby Life Session Bundle that includes those offerings from both the hospital and a home shoot.

Families can also customize packages with options including books, canvas prints, acrylic blocks, holiday cards, birth announcements and digital downloads.
The average family spends about $300 on Bella Baby Photogaphy products, the studio said.
Bella Baby partners with more than 60 hospitals across New York, New Jersey and Connecticut alongside more than 200 photographers. More than 50,000 families are photographed by the studio every year.

In Central Jersey, Bella Baby also operates at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick.
The company was launched by self-taught photographer Kelly Billington. As a newly divorced single mom, she wanted an independent income, so she transformed the front room of her apartment into a photography studio.
Her cramped workspace inspired a distinctive style that showcased the essence of her tiny subjects. With her unique portfolio that showcased natural shots which were far cries from stoic portraiture, she began partnering with hospitals to offer a new take on newborn hospital photography.
