A cast that gets tatted together, stays together!
The cast of A24’s upcoming film Warfare, including stars Noah Centineo and Joseph Quinn, have been very vocal about the brotherly bond they formed on its set — and recently revealed that they even sealed the bond with matching tattoos!
Michael Gandolfini was actually first to reveal the castmates’ ink, sharing a snap of himself and Warfare costars D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai, Cosmo Jarvis and Centineo pulling down their trousers to reveal small thigh tattoos in an Instagram photo dump last December.

Earlier this month, stars Woon-A-Tai, 23, and Charles Melton shared more about the sweet decision to get inked together at a Los Angeles screening of the film — which is based on a real-life Navy SEALs surveillance mission during the Iraq War in 2006.
While speaking at the L.A. event alongside directing duo Ray Mendoza and Alex Garland — as well as several veterans who were part of the actual events Warfare portrays — Melton, 34, revealed that with all of the boot camp, buzz cuts and actual filming, the cast “all bonded” and “got matching tattoos,” per The Hollywood Reporter.
The tattoo is script that says “Call on Me,” according to Woon-A-Tai, who also revealed that his is located in a slightly NSFW location. “I got it right under my underwear because I think I’m never going to do a sex scene,” the Reservation Dogs star said at the event, per THR. “So it’s fine. I’ll be able to hide it right there.”

“Sometimes I’ll wake up naked, and I’ll see it. I’m like, ‘I miss these guys,’” added Woon-A-Tai. “I really built a brotherhood with these guys in the very small span of a few months.”
Warfare stars Kit Connor and Will Poulter also have the matching ink, though the latter got his far later than the rest — and shocked both Melton and Woon-A-Tai with its reveal.
Poulter, 32, announced his tattoo — which is located on the back of his calf — during an Access Hollywood interview alongside Woon-A-Tai and Melton, who could not believe their eyes. (The cast had previously been giving him a “hard time about not having the tattoo” in interviews, per Melton.)
After the The Bear actor pulled up his jeans to reveal the tat, Melton exclaimed, “Oh my — no way! When?” Woon-A-Tai, meanwhile, wore a similar look of shock, and Poulter chuckled to himself, seemingly pleased with the reaction.
Poulter also revealed the meaning behind the “Call on Me” tattoos, which he said is “a reference to the only piece of music that features in the film,” as well as “a reminder that we can all be there for each other, and call on each other if we need it.”
“And I’ve also been in the company of these guys while wearing shorts for, like, 24 hours, and they didn’t notice,” added Poulter, “so it’s quite fun to reveal it on camera like that.”
Quinn, 31, was also a late addition to the tatted crew and revealed his ink in a similarly dramatic fashion: by rolling up his trousers at Warfare’s L.A. premiere to reveal the text on his calf, much to one of his costar’s shock and amusement.

“You motherf——!” Gandolfini, 25, said after the Stranger Things star revealed his ink on the red carpet, per footage shared by Entertainment Tonight. “When did you get it?” Gandolfini prodded, as Quinn jokingly fired back, “None of your business. See? He doubted me.”
“You mysterious man,” added Gandolfini.
The cast also joked that they might just “drop trou” on the carpet to show off their various tattoo placements and while that didn’t happen during the March 27 event, it did, in fact, happen back in December when Gandolfini shared it on Instagram.
