Odessa A’zion was already making a ton of money as an actress years before her breakout roles in Marty Supreme and I Love LA, Us Weekly can exclusively report.

Us obtained the 2018 contract that A’zion, 25, signed for her role in the CBS sitcom, Fam, which reveals her salary for the gig.

Fam ran for 13 episodes from January to April 2019. The show, which was canceled after one season, costarred Nina Dobrev and Sheryl Lee Ralph.

A’zion played Dobrev’s younger sister, who moves back in and causes drama. Per her contract, A’zion was to be paid $37,500 for the pilot, which was scheduled to shoot on April 16, 2018.

The agreement said the Los Angeles-born actress would be paid $37,500 per episode for the first season. The per episode fee was to rise to $39,375 for season two, $41,344 for season three, $43,410 for season four, $45,581 for season five and if the show reached season seven, A’zion would have been paid $50,253 per episode.

The deal said A’zion would also have to perform in crossover episodes. “Performer agrees to render services as reasonably requested by Studio in connection with other series for the promotion of the Series,” the paperwork stated.

In addition, A’zion had to agree to terms regarding any potential merchandise for the show with her face on it. The actress granted CBS the right to use her face and likeness for all in-character “merchandising (excluding merchandising directly relating to alcohol, tobacco‚ firearms‚ embarrassing personal hygiene products, and prescription pharmaceuticals).”

The studio agreed to pay the actress up to five percent of the studio’s net receipts from the merchandise. A’zion’s deal had strict terms regarding promotion for the show.

The actress was required to be available for Comic-Con, the Television Critics Association press tours, the annual Studio Summer Press Party and the Los Angeles International Screenings. The deal called for A’zion to do a minimum of two half-days of telephone interviews with television writers and various other press events.

Per the agreement, A’zion was exclusive to the studio in all media, excluding movies and theater, but was allowed to do three guest television appearances, which could include a made-for-television movie. However, none of the guest appearances could air the same time as Fam aired.

While on set, A’zion was provided with a first-class, private dressing room with customary first-class amenities.

Fam may not have lasted long but A’zion has quickly become one of Hollywood’s rising stars.

She went on to star in a 2020 Netflix show called Grand Army that ran for one season, costarred with Dakota Johnson in Am I OK?, appeared in the 2022 Hellraiser remake and did a four-episode arc in CBS’ sitcom Ghosts.

It wasn’t until 2025 when A’zion became a household name after appearing in Rachel Sennott’s HBO show I Love LA and the film Marty Supreme with Timothée Chalamet.

A’zion is no stranger to the business. Her mother is actress/comedian/writer Pamela Adlon, who is known for her roles on Californication, Louie, Better Things and King of the Hill.
