Wandy Peralta may be on the move soon.
The Post’s Jon Heyman reported Wednesday that the Padres veteran reliever is being actively discussed in trade talks amid the Padres’ recent skid and ahead of the Aug. 3 trade deadline.
The Padres could become trade deadline sellers with the team 50-51 entering Wednesday.
This reveal comes as San Diego closer Mason Miller’s future with the team seems uncertain.
Peralta is in the third year of a four-year deal he signed in 2024 after leaving the Yankees.
Though he’s 34, Peralta would likely yield a solid return, as the lefty has pitched to a 2.32 ERA in 43 appearances this season.
Peralta has 32 strikeouts in 50 ⅓ innings.
The veteran was especially dominant in June, as he didn’t allow an earned run across 18 innings and held opponents to just a .422 OPS.
He thrives at limiting home runs, as he’s generating a 48.3 percent ground-ball rate while allowing just 0.72 home runs per nine innings.
Peralta spent time with the Reds, Giants and Yankees before joining the Padres in 2024.
He’s improved each year with the Padres, lowering his ERA from 3.99 in 2024 to 3.14 last year.
He could potentially be an option for the Yankees, and he had his fair share of success across three years in the Bronx from 2021-23.
Peralta pitched to under a 3.00 ERA every year with the Yankees and racked up 133 strikeouts in more than 150 innings.
The Padres’ bullpen could see a massive makeover with Miller also being mentioned in rumors.
Miller has been arguably the best reliever in baseball this season, overpowering hitters with an 0.86 ERA and 78 strikeouts in 41 ⅔ innings.
