Patriots receiver Stefon Diggs has been charged with felony strangulation or suffocation and misdemeanor assault and battery charges from an alleged Dec. 2 incident, according to Boston 25.
The Patriots beat the Giants on “Monday Night Football” the day before.
Diggs’ attorneys argued in court Tuesday that the police report should be impounded, but a judge had not ruled as of late Tuesday morning, per the outlet.
Diggs, an 11-year pro, is dating rapper Cardi B and the two recently had a child together.
The 32-year-old reportedly is set to be arraigned on Jan. 23, which would be two days before the AFC Championship game.
The Patriots are the AFC East champion and enter Week 18 as the AFC’s No. 2 seed with a chance to claim home-field advantage and the top overall seed.
Diggs has 82 catches for 970 yards and four touchdowns this season, and is coming off back-to-back 100-plus-yard efforts against the Ravens (10 catches, 138 yards) and Jets (six catches, 101 yards and one touchdown).
