A new report has raised eyebrows about whether Indiana Fever head coach Christie Sides will return to the team next season.

Stephanie White, who coached the Connecticut Sun the past two seasons, had her contract expire and is a free agent.

Annie Costabile of the Chicago Sun-Times reported Wednesday that White is in talks with three teams about potentially being their head coach: the Chicago Sky, Sun and Fever.

The report was curious considering that there had previously been no indication that Sides might not be back with the Fever in 2025.

A spokesperson for the Fever declined to comment to The Post about the Sun-Times’ report.

After a rocky start, Sides appeared from the outside to do an exceptional job with Indiana, finishing the season 20-10 and galvanizing a chemistry with the team as there was a profound amount of national attention on Caitlin Clark’s rookie year.

The Fever were swept in the first round of the playoffs in a best-of-three series by the White-coached Sun.

Sides was hired as the Fever’s head coach in 2023.

White has previously spent a total of 11 seasons with the Fever organization — five as a player, four as an assistant coach and two as head coach.

There have been changes in the Fever’s front office already this offseason, as Amber Cox was named general manager and COO, replacing Lin Dunn, who moved into an advisory role with the team.

Cox previously worked for the Wings and Sun, but did overlap with White in Connecticut.

The Sky, who were big rivals with the Fever this past season carrying on a rivalry Clark had with Chicago rookie Angel Reese dating back years in college, are searching for a new coach after firing Teresa Weatherspoon after one year on the job.
