The Baltimore Ravens are compiling their short list of coaches to interview in a post-John Harbaugh world.
Multiple reports indicate that Baltimore is bringing in coaches for interviews, beginning with Broncos assistants in quarterbacks coach Davis Webb and defensive coordinator Vance Joseph on Thursday.
The Ravens will reportedly then host Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy for an interview Sunday.
Batlimore also requested interviews with Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak, as well as Dolphins defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver.
They’ve also requested permission to interview Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores, though no date has been set for that interview.
The latest Ravens’ next coach odds have Chargers defensive coordinator Jesse Minter as the favorite to land the job, although there is no date set for that interview yet.
Kalshi gives Minter a 38 percent chance to get the Ravens’ job at the time of writing, while Flores is the second-favorite at 21 percent.
The Chargers are in the playoffs and face the Patriots in the wild-card round, which complicates Minter’s availability for interviews compared to coaches who are free agents.
Other coaches will surely be considered, as Kevin Stefanski is now available after his ousting from the fellow AFC North foe Browns.
Robert Saleh and Chris Shula are two other highly considered coordinators who could get a look by the Ravens, but both are in the midst of a playoff chase with their talented NFC North squads.
Baltimore has had three of the more bizarre ends to a season that we’ve ever seen consecutively.
The Ravens fumbled twice, including once at their own goal line, in a 17-10 loss to the Chiefs in the 2024 AFC Championship game.
They followed that up with tight end Mark Andrews dropping a game-tying two-point conversion against the Bills to seal their fate last year in the Divisional Round.
Last Sunday, kicker Tyler Loop missed a 44-yard field goal to seal a playoff berth for the Steelers and eliminate the Ravens, after which Harbaugh was fired.
Any coach taking over for the Ravens will hope to reverse that trend and gain control of the locker room, which the NFL Network reported that Harbaugh lost.
However, there are have been other reports pushing back on that narrative.
