CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – Iowa U.S. Representative Ashley Hinson is urging lawmakers to approve a bill making E15 ethanol available year round across the nation.
Lawmakers say making the ethanol fuel blend available year round will be good for the economy and help farmers gain access to new markets.
The biofuel caucus spoke about the Consumer and Fuel Retailer Choice Act Tuesday.
This legislation has been brought up in Congress since 2015, but has failed to pass.
However, last month, the EPA approved year round sales of E15 in eight Midwestern states, including Iowa.
