Saints (-2.5) over TITANS

As the 2025 season nears its conclusion, an argument can be made that Saints rookie Tyler Shough is playing the best of any rookie quarterback.

Shough is coming on strong now that he has more reps under him, having won three straight games — including two against playoff contenders in the Buccaneers and Panthers. It’s possible he may be New Orleans’ franchise quarterback.

He’ll square off Sunday against the No. 1 pick in last year’s draft, Cam Ward, who also is playing better after a rough beginning to his career.

Though the Titans are probably riding high after last week’s win against the checked-out and depleted Chiefs, we’ll back the hotter overall team with the more impressive quarterback.

The Saints should win in Nashville by at least a field goal. Shough and top receiver Chris Olave are primed to dismantle a struggling Tennessee secondary.

Jaguars (-6.5) over COLTS

Philip Rivers is an amazing story and he played well Monday night, but the Colts’ defense provided less resistance against the 49ers than the FBI did to evil mastermind Hans Gruber in the terrorist takeover of Nakatomi Plaza in 1988. (Yes, “Die Hard” is a Christmas movie in our eyes).

The Colts are all but done, and here comes a Jacksonville team that just laid the smackdown on the Broncos at Mile High.

First-year coach Liam Coen has Trevor Lawrence playing some of the best ball of his career, and Jacksonville has plenty of motivation with the AFC South still up for grabs.

Back the hot team with more to play for against the team that had a scorching start and is instead going to possibly finish with a losing record. Getting the hook in our favor here at 6.5 instead of 7.5 is a nice holiday treat.
