The St. John’s-Connecticut game is an expensive ticket.

Prices for Friday night’s showdown at the Garden, the game of the year in the Big East, are through the proverbial roof.

According to Keenan McKenzie of GoTickets.com, the average price of tickets on the secondary market over the last seven days is $240.

Floor seats are going for $2,000 to $3,000 and the cheapest seat will cost you roughly $175.

Compare that to the average price for all St. John’s games this year at the Garden, which is $92.

McKenzie said that the average ticket for a college basketball game over the last six months is $79.

Both teams enter on long winning streaks.

Connecticut has reeled off 18 victories in a row and St. John’s has won eight straight.

They are the top two teams in the league separated by one game.

It is expected to be one of the highest grossing games ever for St John’s at the Garden.

Plenty of Connecticut fans are expected to be at the Garden for this matchup. St. John’s coach Rick Pitino estimated they would have roughly 7,000. UConn has played at the Garden twice this year, against Illinois and Florida, winning both times.

“I think it’s gonna feel like a road game,” coach Dan Hurley said. “It certainly did last year, and we’re preparing that way.”

The St. John’s-Connecticut clash is the first Big East conference game in February between two teams with zero or one loss since Feb. 2, 2009. That game pitted the Huskies against Pitino and Louisville.

Hurley holds a 4-2 record against Pitino, and a 3-2 mark since Pitino took over at St. John’s. The Johnnies swept the season series a year ago.
