Summer House star Kyle Cooke is speaking out following his split from wife Amanda Batula.
“I think people will be surprised but also happy to see that Amanda and I are in a good spot,” Cooke, 43, told “Hollywood Raw” podcast host Adam Glyn in a video shared via TikTok on Thursday, January 22. “Obviously the internet’s gonna do its thing, but you know, we literally pushed send together.”
Cooke and Batula, 34, confirmed their separation on Monday, January 19, after four years of marriage, noting that they “mutually and amicably decided to part ways as a couple.” The couple also asked for “grace and support” from their fans as they “try to navigate” their next steps.
Cooke pointed out on Thursday, “It’s a lot to swallow when your entire relationship from the very, very beginning is on TV. So we knew it wasn’t gonna be easy,” insisting that “there’s still a lot of love” between him and Batula despite their breakup.
While he declined to specify when the pair went their separate ways, Cooke noted that fans “picked up” on the fact that he and Batula were living separately. “It was like the worst kept secret, but we just weren’t ready to talk about it,” he joked.

Cooke added that he and Batula are still figuring out what comes next as they prepare for season 10 of Summer House to premiere.
“We weren’t lying about it. We didn’t split, we didn’t separate. We were trying to figure out the best way to give our relationship another shot. And ultimately, we decided we don’t wanna give each other false hope, we don’t wanna give our friends and family false hope, we don’t wanna give fans false hope. … There’s no playbook,” he said on Thursday. “We were very much on the same page where we knew we needed to create some space … This is not some big surprise.”
The reality star also noted that fans will see him and Batula doing press together for their show. “This isn’t like a big breakup where there’s a smoking gun and there’s a lot of hate. … We got each other’s back,” he said.
Shortly after Cooke and Batula announced their split, a source exclusively told Us Weekly that the two “were having ongoing issues all summer and decided to separate in the fall.”
According to the insider, the reality stars were “technically” already “separated” at BravoCon 2025 in November, but “kept it under wraps.”
Ahead of their split, Batula “realized that Kyle’s behavior was not changing,” the source said.
Batula ultimately reached her “breaking point” after Cooke was caught “sleeping at a fan’s house” and continued “staying out late and partying like he is in his 20s, and not understanding her needs after they had multiple conversations,” the insider told Us.
“She felt unheard and emotionally exhausted,” the source revealed, adding that both Batula and Cooke “realized they are on different pages and don’t want the same things in life anymore.”
Although Cooke was “deeply upset by the separation and didn’t expect things to reach this point,” the insider noted that he “understood he cannot be what Amanda wants.”
“They are on completely different wavelengths,” the source told Us of the estranged couple. “Over time, it became impossible to ignore that they were no longer aligned.”
As for Cooke and Batula’s friends, the split was “not shocking” to the people in the former couple’s inner circle because “it has been a long time coming,” though their loved ones are still “sad about it.”
At the time, the insider revealed that Batula wanted “to divorce, but neither of them [had] lawyers or any plan in place” as of yet.
Despite ultimately calling it quits, Cooke and Batula have “always been authentic and vulnerable, and fought for their relationship,” per the source, who insisted their separation could not be attributed to “one incident or situation.”
With season 10 of Summer House set to premiere on February 3, fans can expect to see Cooke and Batula’s relationship woes play out on screen.
“We’re figuring out what we want out of life and out of the relationship,” Batula exclusively told Us weeks before she and Cooke publicly confirmed their split. “We’re sort of trying to talk through that and figure it all out in real time. It’s going to be a very raw season.”
