Charlie Puth gets the honor at the 2026 Super Bowl to sing the national anthem before the Patriots and Seahawks clash.
The “See You Again” singer has a two-minute projection for this year’s national anthem, with FanDuel setting the over/under at 119.5 seconds, each side sitting at -110 odds.
That’s about average for the history of singing the national anthem.
Below are the last 10 national anthem lengths for the Big Game…
National Anthem times last 10 years
- 2025: Jon Batiste 2:00 (although there was some controversy)
- 2024: Reba McEntire 1:34

As you can see, the national anthem is varied by the singer, especially when the vocalist belts the words “Brave” oftentimes, with longer annunciations lengthening some of the renditions.
For what it’s worth, Puth posted a short rendition of the national anthem five years ago while playing the piano (no singing), totaling just 72 seconds (1:12).
“I’ll never claim to be as good of a singer as Whitney Houston ever was. But I assure you we’re putting a really special arrangement together — in D major,” Puth posted on X after the announcement that he will be performing the national anthem, referencing Houston’s iconic performance from 1991.
“It’ll be one of my best vocal performances.”

Puth also added that Chris Stapleton’s rendition was one of the best ever.
Those two times landed very close to each other, with Stapleton taking 2:01 three years ago and Houston coming in at 1:58 before the Giants bested the Bills in an all-time Super Bowl upset.
