When Tampa Bay Rays third baseman Junior Caminero takes to the field on game day, he can’t help but think of his daughter.
“My family is everything,” Caminero, 23, exclusively shared with Us on Wednesday, September 30, when celebrating his title of 2026 MLB Baja Blast Champion. “On Father’s Day, I wore my cleats with [a photo of] my daughter and my family is everything. I wanna support that.”
In November 2025, Caminero and his wife, Francesca, welcomed a daughter named Valentina. Although he tries to keep his personal life private, the MLB player previously walked the red carpet with his family at an MLB All-Star event in July.
“This is my support every single day,” Caminero said about his daughter. “She’s too young. [She] don’t know nothing in baseball right now. … When I come home to my house, we have a room for my baby, and we play a little bit with the ball. That’s the best.”
He continued, “In the years when she starts getting bigger and bigger and bigger … that will be a special moment.”
For now, Caminero is focused on the MLB playoffs and his team facing off against the New York Yankees starting Saturday, October 3.
Throughout the season, the Dominican Republic native has felt the love from Tampa Bay and his teammates as he reached career milestones, including crushing 21 home runs of 420+ feet.
Baja Blast, which is the official soft drink of the MLB, recently surprised Caminero with a custom champion box commemorating the massive hits that earned him the title of MLB Baja Blast Champion.
During the MLB postseason and World Series, every 420+ ft home run will unlock free Baja Blasts for fans nationwide.
“The fans are outstanding. The fans, I want to say thank God for them, especially being back at Tropicana Field and the fans being around every day,” Caminero said. “Thank you for the support every single day. We gotta see all the fans celebrate here.”
Win or lose, the MLB All-Star player is grateful to have experienced another season doing what he loves with teammates he describes as a “great group.”
“For me, baseball is my everything, my life. This is a dream come true for me,” Caminero shared. “As a young kid, we dreamed of this. Now everybody knows me, and I thank God for the work put in every single day. I play for the best team in the American League right now. That’s always been the goal.”
