Free food, plus swag and door prizes, and valuable information to boot. What is not to love about “A Taste of Senior Living,” the event that tempts seniors with gourmet bites while giving them the scoop on local senior communities?
Hosted by One Senior Place and Rhodes Law, P.A., the annual grazing extravaganza will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Friday, April 4, at the Center for Collaboration at the Space Coast Health Foundation, 1100 Rockledge Blvd., Rockledge.

Brevard senior communities represented include:
-
YourLife of West Melbourne Memory Care
-
Chateau Madeleine Senior Living
-
Melbourne Terrace Rehabilitation Center
Representatives from these communities will be on hand to discuss the various properties. One Senior Place will also distribute copies of the “Senior Living Options Resource Guide,” which provides an unbiased assessment of the many types of housing scenarios available to seniors.
A slew of other participants, from Tropic Moving to Viera Insurance Professionals, will provide additional information on services of interest to older residents.
“Most seniors would like to live at home the rest of their lives, but as our health and needs change, it’s not always possible,” said Don Kramer, founder and CEO of One Senior Place.
Kramer adds that today’s senior communities are a far cry from the stereotypes of yore.
“Seniors owe it to themselves to find out about today’s retirement communities, which are very different from the past and almost like resorts.”
During “A Taste of Senior Living,” seniors and their families can do virtual tours of these communities, and, just as importantly, sample delicious fare, collect plenty of giveaways and test their luck at door prizes.
Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. and doors open at 11 a.m. To help food planning, online RSVPs are recommended at oneseniorplace.com. For more information, call 321-751-6771.
