LOUISVILLE, Ky. − Tennessee basketball went on the road and passed its first big test this season.
The Vols suffocated Louisville and got high-scoring games from Chaz Lanier and Zakai Zeigler to rout the Cardinals 77-55 at the KFC Yum! Center.
The Vols took a 22-point lead early, but Louisville trimmed it to nine in the second half. The veteran Vols responded with a flurry of 3-pointers and a 12-2 run to restore a 22-point lead that grew to 26.
UT has a 9-12 record in program history against Louisville. The Vols won 92-81 in the NIT Season Tip-Off in Brooklyn in November 2018 in the most recent meeting before Saturday.
