A Steelers great feels that Justin Fields should remain as the Pittsburgh starting quarterback.

Terry Bradshaw weighed in on the debate over whether the Steelers should hand the starter job over to Russell Wilson or stick with Fields on Sunday night when they host the Jets.

The greatest quarterback in Steelers history threw his weight behind Fields when TMZ asked him who should be the starter for Week 7.

“He’s played well enough to keep the job, in my opinion,” Bradshaw said when approached by a TMZ reporter in Los Angeles.

Fields is having the best season of his career in Pittsburgh after a tumultuous tenure with the Bears, who drafted him with the No. 3 overall pick in 2021.

“I’m gonna stay with Fields,” Bradshaw said. “I think he’s played really good. He’s such a great athlete, he can throw, and I think he just fits the team he has right now.”

Through six starts this season with the Steelers, Fields has led the team to a 4-2 record and has thrown 106 completions and five touchdowns.

Steelers coach Mike Tomlin is weighing the options of who to start — with Wilson getting first-team reps this week — going into the weekend’s game with Gang Green, but Fields told reporters on Thursday that he could be playing better.

“I don’t think I played good enough, if I’m being real with you,” he told reporters.  If I’m being real with myself, I think if I did play well enough, I don’t think there would be any sort of who should be playing, who should not.”

Both quarterbacks had been brought in during the offseason with the plan to have Wilson serve as the starter, but an injury forced the Steelers to change up their plans.

Now, Fields is preparing for any possible outcome this weekend, including backing up for Wilson this week.

“I just do my job at the end of the day and whether that’s playing, it’s helping the guys out on the sideline, tell him what I see, helping the rest out if he’s out there. So just small stuff like that,” he said, per NFL Network.
