For many of us, celebrity fashion provided a much needed distraction this year. Given all that happened in 2024, it was nice to occasionally tune out and shoot off links to the group chat of the Met Gala gowns that caught our eye, or our fave looks from the increasingly stylish women of the WNBA.

There was also a ton of on-theme dressing for premieres and movie events that caught our attention, too. Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo may have worn every pink and green piece of couture under the sun for “Wicked,” while Zendaya wowed in futuristic looks for “Dune: Part Two” ― who could forget her Mugler robot suit at the London premiere? ― and preppy tennis-core for “Challengers.”

Men stood out as well, with fashion-forward actors like Colman Domingo and Daniel Craig refusing to go the staid black or navy suit or basic tuxedo route. Instead, they embraced color and bold silhouettes.

Anyway, enough reading. The real draw of this article is fashion, which means we need pictures. Below, we’ve rounded up 42 of our absolute favorite red carpet and street style looks from celebs.

Colman Domingo further proved his style bonafides in a mustard yellow suit and a textured gold coat from Valentino Haute Couture at the Critics Choice Awards.

Jenna Ortega

Jenna Ortega

Jenna Ortega looked appropriately zany ― all in a very chic way, though ― at the UK “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” premiere. The custom Harris Reed gown almost feels origami-inspired.

Cate Blanchett

Cate Blanchett

Posing on a red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival in a black and pale-pink Jean Paul Gaultier gown, some wondered if Cate Blanchett was making a pro-Palestine statement. Though Blanchett didn’t confirm or deny any intentions, the dress was one of the most talked about looks of the year.

Debby Harry

Debby Harry

We had to include some casual fashion here, too: For instance, Blondie’s Debby Harry looked fabulous in head-to-toe Gucci at the brand’s Spring Summer 2025 fashion show in Milan, Italy.

Christine Baranski

Christine Baranski

The “Gilded Age’s” Christine Baranski was a total vision in gold at the 76th Primetime Emmy Awards. The sleek gown is by Oscar de la Renta.

Russell Westbrook

Russell Westbrook

NBA star Russell Westbrook ― who in November became the first player in NBA history to reach 200 triple-doubles ― continues to prove he’s a star when it comes to fashion, too. The Denver Nugget player wore a khaki-colored two-piece sans shirt at a Vogue event during the Paris Fashion Week.

Daniel Craig

Daniel Craig

2024 was the year Daniel Craig ditched the dapper, arguably played-out aesthetic of “007” in favor of something that might best be described as “your eccentric uncle wear but cooler.” Here he is at the Los Angeles Premiere Of A24’s “Queer.”

Mikey Madison

Mikey Madison

Wearing a burgundy Mugler velvet midi dress for a Jimmy Kimmel taping, “Anora” breakout star Mikey Madison looked way too glam to be standing by that fence.

Nava Mau

Nava Mau

“Baby Reindeer’s” Nava Mau looked sharp (literally and figuratively) at Variety’s 2024 Power Of Women event.

Katie Holmes

Katie Holmes, who we don’t get to see on the red carpet nearly enough, provided a splash of color in Carolina Herrera at the CFDA Fashion Awards.

Jodie Turner-Smith

Jodie Turner-Smith

What can we say? We love a good revenge dress: A few months after filing for divorce from actor Joshua Jackson, Jodie Turner-Smith turned up to the 2024 Vanity Fair Oscar Party in this stunner of a Gucci gown.

Pamela Anderson

Stephane Cardinale – Corbis via Getty Images

Pamela Anderson

Pamela Anderson made headlines this year for turning up mostly fresh-faced and makeup free on the red carpet. The yellow Isabel Marant sheath dress she wore to the brand’s Paris Fashion Week show was a perfect complement.

Jennifer Lopez

Pascal Le Segretain via Getty Images

Jennifer Lopez

We love when Jennifer Lopez goes twee and retro, and this 1960s-inspired Valentino gown at Paris Fashion Week fits that bill perfectly. The updo ― very Catherine Deneuve in “The Umbrellas of Cherbourg”― completes the look.

Chris Perfetti

Chris Perfetti

“Abbott Elementary’s” Chris Perfetti, pictured here at an event before the BAFTA’s, favors bold silhouettes (like the killer coat) and clothes that expose a little chest hair. We love that for him.

Aubrey Plaza

JB Lacroix via Getty Images

Aubrey Plaza

Aubrey Plaza looked picture perfect for a “Megalopolis” photo call at the Cannes Film Festival in this floral Miu Miu midi-dress that called to mind the ’70s.

Anna Sawai

Scott Kirkland via Getty Images

Anna Sawai

There’s nothing like a dramatic red gown ― a Vera Wang one, in this case ― to prove you’re going places: Anna Sawai demonstrated just that at the 76th Emmy Awards when she picked up the Emmy for Best Lead Actress in Drama for her work in “Shōgun.” (Sawai is the first woman of Asian descent to win the award.)

Lamorne Morris

Lamorne Morris

“Fargo’s” Lamorne Morris looks sleek as can be in a black tux from Dolce & Gabbana with off-center buttons. To complete the look, he accessorized with a pair of vintage diamond brooches by Jewels Aficionado.

Brian Cox

Simu Liu

Miley Cyrus

Kevin Mazur via Getty Images

Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus glammed it up at the 66th Grammy Awards in a chocolate brown, sequin-covered one-shoulder Gucci gown. (It was hard to pick one look from the night ― the “Flowers” singer had five different outfit changes.)

Lily Gladstone

Amy Sussman via Getty Images

Lily Gladstone

“Killers of the Flower Moon” actor Lily Gladstone looked utterly striking at the 76th Emmy Awards in a Rodarte gown and a breastplate made by Indigenous artist Agnes Seaweed Wisden.

Da’Vine Joy Randolph

Kevin Mazur via Getty Images

Da’Vine Joy Randolph

Yellow ― specifically butter yellow ― was the color of the year, fashion speaking. At the Emmy Awards, “The Holdovers” actor Da’Vine Joy Randolph wore a Sophie couture hooded gown in a brighter shade of the color and made it sing.

Manny Jacinto

Lia Toby via Getty Images

Manny Jacinto

We love a good pinstripe suit, and Manny Jacinto, pictured here at the UK premiere of “Star Wars: The Acolyte,” knows how to sell one.

Demi Moore

“Past Lives” star Greta Lee looked witchy and wonderful in The Row at LACMA’s 13th annual Art+Film Gala.

Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande

Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande

Admittedly, it was hard to pick our favorite matching look from Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo’s “Wicked” press tour. We eventually settled on this more casual look, though, which the pair wore at a special screening of the movie musical in New York. Grande looked every inch Glinda in a prim custom Versace dress while Erivo made a splash in a Louis Vuitton spring/summer 2020 coat and jeans.

Caitlin Clark

Caitlin Clark

WNBA star Caitlin Clark arrived at the 2024 WNBA Draft at the Brooklyn Academy of Music wearing a Prada double white satin shirt and skirt.
