If the glorious first game at The Stadium and nearly perfect first week are any indication, the run-it-back Yankees are going to run away in the American League East.

The Yankees celebrated a beautiful home opener in the Bronx by easily handling one of the other two teams that entered the day with only one loss.

Sure, we’re still only seven games in, and it was only the kid-heavy, probably not-quite-ready-for-prime-time Marlins. But things couldn’t be looking better for the Bombers. The 8-2 victory at a sold-out Stadium rocked the house, as the Yankees became MLB’s first team to six wins at 6-1.

“It’s early, but you love the fact you get off to this kind of start because wins are precious,’ manager Aaron Boone said.
