In The Life List, Alex (Sofia Carson) is sent on the journey of a lifetime after her late mother (Connie Britton) leaves behind a teenage bucket list for her to complete to shake up her otherwise comfortable, if boring, life. Alex is challenged to face every goal her mother set for herself when she was 13 years old – get a tattoo, perform stand-up, reconnect with family, – but she learns a lot more about herself along the way – and finds love, too. Director Greg Tillman dives into the 1995 tragedy in Oklahoma City that resulted in the deaths of 168 victims. The chilling documentary recounts the bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City, told through firsthand accounts from survivors and first responders, as well as interviews with Timothy McVeigh, who was convicted in 1997 and executed by lethal injection in 2001. Who ever thought there would be a thriller set in an Apple store? The Dutch action film iHostage is partially inspired by the real-life hostagee situation that occurred in 2022 at an Apple Store in Amsterdam. In iHostage, an armed criminal takes a building hostage and threatens to bomb the place unless his demands are met. Told through the perspectives of the hostages, the assailant, and first responders, iHostage “is a rock-solid thriller made all the more stronger by its dramatic plausibility,” according to Decider’s John Serba. Bradley Cooper stars in the haunting 2014 film American Sniper as real-life U.S. Navy SEAL Chris Kyle who struggles to assimilate to life back home with his family after completing four tours of duty in Iraq. Kyle puts himself in danger by becoming one of the deadliest snipers in American history during his service. But the consequences of war can be felt even when he returns home to his family and kids. The film earned Cooper his second Oscar nomination for Best Actor, but it turned out to be just one of several nominations Cooper would miss out on during his career.
