The hits just kept coming on the newest episode of The Traitors with an emotional elimination, Traitor on Traitor betrayal and plenty of murder.
During the Thursday, January 22, episode of the hit Peacock series, the Traitors (Rob Rausch, Lisa Rinna and Candiace Dillard Bassett) weren’t able to murder anyone after a Faithful secretly acquired a shield in the last challenge.
This kicked off a day full of different group plans to suss out a Traitor. Some people wanted to banish Ron Funches because he was considered a potential Traitor since the first elimination while others were eyeing Colton Underwood.
Speaking of Colton, he put a surprise plan in place by approaching Lisa — who he thought could be deceiving the group — and offering her a proposition. Colton suggested he keep her safe by making sure no Faithfuls voted her out if she protected him as a Traitor.
Lisa didn’t take the bait and pretended to still be a Faithful. But Colton’s suspicion still led to her being on the chopping block by the time the roundtable rolled around. Ron was the first person named and he even sacrificed himself by issuing individual goodbyes to his fellow contestants in anticipation of a goodbye.
But then things took a turn with Colton naming Lisa — and others gunning for the former Bachelor. The roundtable was tied but it was Rob who found himself the most divided. He didn’t want to vote for Lisa because she was a fellow Traitor but his unexpected friendship with Ron made him feel guilty about knowingly banishing the comedian.
The votes were largely tied but ultimately Ron was the one who left the castle. Rob, however, shook up the roundtable when he cast his vote for Lisa, which only the former Housewife and Candiace clocked as the betrayal that it was.
In the aftermath, Rob tried to make amends but the trust was already broken. What viewers didn’t know until then was that host Alan Cumming previously told the trio of a murder in plain sight taking place right after the banishment. Lisa was the one who had to choose who would be killed because she would be wearing the poisonous necklace.
The preview for next week’s episode hinted at a divide among Faithfuls and Traitors alike as they joined Alan for a themed dinner party, which will moonlight as the scene for the Traitors’ latest murder.
The Traitors, which premiered in the U.S. in 2023, brings together reality TV stars and other notable personalities to compete in a mafia-style game for up to $250,000. Earlier this season, Ian Terry, Rob Cesternino, Caroline Stanbury and Monét X Change were murdered by the Traitors. Meanwhile, Porsha Williams, Donna Kelce, Tiffany Mitchell and Michael Rapaport were banished by the Faithfuls.
The rest of the cast includes Natalie Anderson, Yamil “Yam Yam” Arocho, Mark Ballas, Stephen Colletti, Maura Higgins, Kristen Kish, Tara Lipinski, Dorinda Medley, Eric Nam and Johnny Weir.
The Traitors is streaming now on Peacock with new episodes dropping Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET.
