The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) is alerting Michigan residents that Prophet Premium Blends, in collaboration with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), has issued a recall of all Diamond Shruumz-brand products.

MDHHS, FDA and the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development are urging Michigan residents to stop eating, selling or serving any flavor of Diamond Shruumz-brand Microdosing Chocolate Bars, Infused Cones or Micro-Dose and Macro-Dose gummies and instead throw them away.

According to a recall notice on DiamondShruumz.com, consumers became ill after consuming their edibles with “higher levels of Muscimol than normal.”

Muscimol is a psychoactive compound found in certain mushrooms of the genus Amanita. Previously used as a sedative and an anti-emetic, muscimol has been tested for therapeutic uses in pain management, migraine treatment, seizure reduction, and in trials studying the treatment of epilepsy and Parkinson’s disease, according to the National Library of Medicine.

People in multiple states have experienced illness after consuming these products, reporting a variety of severe symptoms, including seizures, central nervous system depression, including loss of consciousness, confusion and sleepiness, agitation, abnormal heart rates, hyper/hypotension, nausea and vomiting.

Those experiencing adverse health effects after consuming these products should seek medical treatment and or call the Poison Help Line at 800-222-1222.

The Food and Drug Administration is warning consumers not to purchase or consume any flavor of Diamond Shruumz’s chocolate bars, cones or gummies after three dozen illnesses were reported.
