2024 may be coming to a close, but these red carpet looks are forever.

This year saw Hollywood’s biggest stars bring their A-game to every event, premiere and awards ceremony. And most of the year’s top fashion hitters had a secret weapon: method dressing.

Take Zendaya, for instance, who repeatedly channeled her role as tennis star Tashi Donaldson while on the Challengers press tour. At one event, she wore a high fashion interpretation of a tennis polo shirt, designed by Simon Porte and his Jacquemus team. The baby pink look featured a cropped polo top connected to an A-line skirt by a single shoestring tied in a bow. To top off the look, the Euphoria actress wore a matching headband and bow-accented shoes.

And Zendaya kept the tradition going for her other major release this year.

For the Feb. 15 world premiere of Dune: Part Two, the Dancing with the Stars alum joined co-star Timothée Chalamet to twin in two looks that were truly out of this world. While Zendaya, 28, suited up in archival Mugler to resemble a high-fashion robot, Timothée, 28, kept the sci-fi vibes rolling with metallic trousers by Haider Ackermann to perfectly compliment the armored look.

And they aren’t the only stars taking their roles from the big screen to the red carpet. Indeed, Wicked leads Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande had a multitude of popular red carpet looks that very well could have been plucked straight from Elphaba and Glinda’s wardrobes. While pink and green accounted for the majority of the press tour’s color palette, these two used fashion to portray their character’s good and evil reputations.

“Cynthia and I have really loved to shop in character,” Ariana told Vogue in an interview published Sept. 18. “I just wanted to live in the DNA and mindset of the character. Now I love the color pink and it feels like part of me. I think it’s something I’ll be forever intertwined with in a very special way.”

To honor Glinda the Good Witch, Ariana, 31, wore a pink-checkered Thom Browne dress with a matching hair bow to the film’s Los Angeles premiere Nov. 9. Oppositely, Cynthia, 37, wore a custom Louis Vuitton gown—in bright green of course—with a matching fringe coat and dramatic jewelry.

Meanwhile, other stars opted to bring their off-screen lives to the carpet with the best accessory—a baby bump.

Jennifer Lawerence took to the 2024 Governors Awards red carpet Nov. 17 to show off her growing baby bump in a figure-hugging chocolate brown gown with gold detailing.

The Oscar winner —who confirmed she was expecting baby No. 2 with husband Cooke Maroney in October—topped off the look with a gold clutch and wispy bangs.
