Former President Joe Biden made his first live television appearance after leaving the White House on The View Thursday. Biden and his wife, former First Lady Dr. Jill Biden, stopped by the daytime chatfest for the entire hour. But before Dr. Biden joined President Biden at the table, he fielded some questions by himself with the panel.
When asked about the 2024 Presidential election and his thoughts about its outcome, the seasoned politician was very blunt with his take and revealed he wasn’t shocked about what transpired. According to Biden:
I wasn’t surprise, not because I didn’t think the Vice President [Kamala Harris] wasn’t the most qualified to be president — she is qualified to be president of the United States of America. I wasn’t surprised because they went the route, the sexist route, the whole route, a woman, this and that. I’ve never seen such a successful and consistent campaign undercutting the notion that a woman of color couldn’t win.

Biden went on to reveal he speaks to his former VP frequently and that she sought out his council on certain matters (which he said he’d never reveal). He also hinted about some tough decisions she was making soon. Some have wondered if Harris was mulling over running for President again in 2028 or if she’d run for Governor of California, her home state.
Biden was also asked if that, he thought if he stayed in the race, whether the outcome would’ve been different and he’d still be in office. Watch his answer below.
