Tim Cowlishaw isn’t letting “Around the Horn” go down without throwing a little shade.
The Dallas Morning News columnist and frequent panelist on the popular ESPN show took to social media to lament the end of the network’s longest-running debate program.
“It was a nice run,” Cowlishaw wrote on X. “Enjoy that 5 o’clock Sports Center.”
Cowlishaw’s comment comes one day after ESPN confirmed the final episode of the show would air on May 23.
The outlet added that a 30-minute edition of “SportsCenter” would take its place until it finds a permanent replacement.
The Post’s former media reporter Ryan Glasspiegel reported in November that the show’s end was nearing.
“Around the Horn has had a remarkable run of more than two decades,” David Roberts, ESPN’s executive vice president, executive editor, sports news and entertainment, said in a statement on Tuesday. “That kind of longevity in media is incredibly rare, and we look forward to celebrating the show’s many accomplishments before the final sign-off in May.”
“Beyond Tony [Reali] and the ensemble of on-air contributors, we are particularly grateful to the production team led by Erik Rydholm and Aaron Solomon, who have been instrumental in ATH’s consistent success since the very beginning.”
“Around the Horn” has been on ESPN’s airwaves since 2002, running more than 4,900 shows.
Cowlishaw’s 2,100 appearances on “Around the Horn” are the second most in the show’s history, trailing only Woody Paige’s 2,955.
He appeared alongside Paige, Bob Ryan and Jay Mariotti in the show’s first-ever episode on Nov. 4, 2002.
