After a loss to the Houston Texans last week, the Miami Dolphins would need a miracle to reach the postseason. They can only keep that hope alive by winning three straight games to end the year, beginning at home Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers.

Just like the Dolphins, the 49ers aren’t yet eliminated from postseason play with a 6-8 record. But a run to keep the year alive is even more unlikely for San Francisco.

Both teams enter Week 16 with a long list of injuries. The Dolphins expect to be without Jaylen Waddle and could be missing Tyreek Hill, as well. The 49ers will be missing offensive tackle Trent Williams and plan to move forward with a fifth-string running back.

Dolphins 23, 49ers 20: Given the amount of injuries on both sides, it’d be a surprise if either offense was cooking with its normal zeal Sunday. Miami has been good at home and usually takes care of business against sub .500 squads.
