Despite the challenges, Todd Chrisley is pushing on for his family, fans, and prison cellmates; so much so that he might just be the prisoners’ “spokesperson.”

The Chrisley Knows Best star has undoubtedly faced some struggles over the last few years. In addition to his family’s hit reality show getting the axe by NBCUniversal, the outspoken patriarch has spent the last year behind bars (as well as his wife Julie Chrisley) for their role in defrauding the government of more than 30 million dollars.

Since reporting to prison to begin their combined 19-year sentence, Todd’s children, Savannah and Chase Chrisley have spoken out on their behalf — spreading awareness about the federal prison system and their living conditions behind bars. Today, many of Todd’s prison pals are apparently going to him for help.

Todd Chrisley hopes to spread awareness about life in prison

According to RadarOnline, Todd may have gained a few new admirers while in federal custody. The outlet is reporting he’s become a “spokesperson” for his fellow inmates.

During Todd’s first interview in late 2023, he exposed some of those working in his current prison, FPC Pensacola, for allegedly attempting to blackmail him and his family for $2,600 a month. He also claimed the prison has been serving inmates expired food, causing prisoners to die by starvation.

“It is so disgustingly filthy. The food is literally, I’m not exaggerating — the food is dated, and it’s out of date by, at minimum, a year,” he said in December.

“It’s a year past expiration. And they are literally starving these men to death here. These men are getting — I don’t know — they are getting a thousand calories a day.”

Todd’s lawyer, Jay Surgent, has said that while locked away, the reality star is the “person [all of the inmates] go to with their concerns,” adding, “They know Todd is speaking out on their behalf.”

Furthermore, the boys in orange see Todd as a “mentor” and “respect” him as such, “almost like a counselor.”

Todd and Julie’s next appeal hearing is scheduled for April 2024.
