Tony Clark resigned as executive director of the MLB Players Association after an internal investigation discovered the 53-year-old had an inappropriate relationship with his sister-in-law, The Post’s Joel Sherman confirmed. ESPN first reported the news.

The sister-in-law was hired by the union in 2023, the report added.

Clark’s wife’s name is Frances. She and their son had move from New York to Phoenix, according to a 2020 USA Today article.

Initial reports Tuesday morning indicated Clark’s resignation was related to a federal investigation into allegations that Clark and the union misused funds from a licensing agreement.

Clark had been executive director of the union since 2013.

The news comes with the MLB collective bargaining agreement set to expire on Dec. 1. It is widely expected that owners will push for a salary cap, something players have spoken out against.

The vibe around the sport has been that there could be a work stoppage after the 2026 season.
