Taylor Swift’s The Life of a Showgirl was played on high rotation by her fiancé, Travis Kelce, throughout 2025.
In an Instagram teaser for the Wednesday, December 10, episode of Travis’ podcast, “New Heights,” the Chiefs tight end, 36, told his brother and cohost, Jason Kelce, about what landed where on his Spotify Wrapped, referring to the most-listened-to albums, artists and tracks recorded over the year.
First, Jason, 38, revealed that his second most-played album was The Life of a Showgirl, before Travis confirmed where Swift’s 12th studio album sat on his own list.
“It was No. 1 for me,” Travis said, to which Jason replied, “Damn it. You beat me.”
The teaser, posted one day prior to the episode being released, also captured the brothers discussing their “average age,” as determined by the streaming service after reviewing individual listening habits.
“Oh my God,” Jason said. “That’s embarrassing. 83,” which drew admiration from Travis before he revealed that he was presented with the age of 68.
The Life of a Showgirl, released by Swift, 35, on October 3, appeared on another high-profile Spotify Wrapped less than one week prior to Travis’ reveal. On Wednesday, December 3, Karoline Leavitt shared insight into her own list which saw Swift land as No. 5 on Leavitt’s top artist of the year list.
Travis’ connection to The Life of a Showgirl runs deep, with Swift announcing the album and unveiling its cover art and track list while appearing as a guest on an August episode of “New Heights.”
It was later revealed that right after her appearance on the podcast, Travis staged a surprise marriage proposal to Swift and the pair became engaged after dating for about two years.
Swift’s “New Heights” episode saw a major spike in the podcast’s engagement, leading to the breaking of a Guinness World Record. “NEW NEWS … we’re officially Guinness World Record holders,” the official “New Heights” account shared via X on August 26 — right before Swift and Travis announced their engagement.
The episode achieved the world record for the most concurrent podcast views on YouTube, attracting 1.3 million views. The number has grown significantly over time.
The Life of a Showgirl has also broken records of its own, including the biggest first-day sales of an album worldwide via iTunes, and Swift’s biggest first-week U.S. album sales results thanks to the 2.7 million copies sold in the first 24 hours.
As for the other exciting August 26 post, Travis and Swift chose to publicly reveal their happy news in a joint Instagram post that read, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”
A carousel of loved-up photos accompanied the caption, set to Swift’s song “So High School,” which was written about her relationship with the NFL star. The first image captured Travis on one knee, while the second showed the couple gazing into each other’s eyes.
Swift also included a photo of her engagement ring in the carousel: an old mine brilliant cut diamond designed by Kindred Lubeck at Artifex Fine Jewelry.
