Trinity Rodman was not shy about her support for her boyfriend, Ben Shelton, at the US Open on Wednesday.
The Washington Spirit and USWNT soccer star was seen at Shelton’s US Open match against Hubert Hurkacz wearing a black “I ❤️ my boyfriend” crop top shirt.
Rodman is often seen as Shelton’s matches, and was sporting a multi-colored shirt for his first-round match on Monday.
Rodman is making the time to show up for Shelton right in the middle of her NWSL season with the Spirit.
Rodman does have about a week off of action, as her most recent game was a road contest against Bay F.C. on Sunday, and her next game isn’t until this upcoming Sunday — a home game against the Portland Thorns — that coincides with the men’s US Open final.
One would imagine that the Spirit are still holding training sessions across this week. But Rodman is clearly managing that with watching her boyfriend compete in one of tennis’ biggest tournaments.
Shelton is one American tennis star who would make a deep run in this year’s U.S. Open as the world’s No. 9 ranked player.
It also comes with Jannik Sinner missing the US Open with an injury and Carlos Alcaraz playing his first tournament in four-and-a-half months after suffering a wrist ailment.
But Shelton has his hands full against Hurcasz on Wednesday on Arthur Ashe Stadium with the two big servers splitting the first two sets in the best of five.
