President Trump claimed Thursday he told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to stop attacking Iran’s gas and oil fields.
“I told him, ‘Don’t do that.’ And he won’t do that,” the president said in the Oval Office.
Israel attacked the South Pars natural gas field in Iran overnight, with Tehran retaliating by bombing energy sites across the Middle East — most notably Qatar’s Ras Laffan Industrial City, the world’s largest liquefied natural gas facility.
“On occasion, he’ll do something,” the US president said of Netanyahu, “and if I don’t like it … we’re not doing that anymore.”
