The US unleashed a fresh wave of strikes on Iran, its second in two days, in response to the regime’s attacks across the region, President Trump said, adding that peace negotiations were off the table.
“The strikes are large and powerful, and in retaliation for the Iranians’ failed attempt at adding sea mines to the Strait, which currently has no mines (They have been completely removed or detonated!), and the Iranians shooting eight missiles, all successfully knocked down, at our Military Base in Jordan,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
“If the failed Nation of Iran retaliates for this very justified attack, they will be hit again at a much harder and higher level, but it will not be the biggest attack of them all, that is waiting in the wings and, when it is over, there will be very little left of the Islamic Republic of Iran!” he warned.
The president went on to slam Iran as “crazy” and “stupid” for their repeated attacks, adding that Iran’s latest call for peace negotiations would go nowhere.
“I think an agreement with them isn’t worth the paper it’s written on,” Trump told Fox News’ Trey Yingst. “We gave them a lot of chances.”
The strikes began at 12 p.m. EST, with US Central Command noting that the attacks are focused against the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, which oversees the Strait of Hormuz.
“The strikes follow recent attempted attacks by the IRGC against commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and against American service members deployed to the region,” CENTCOM said in a statement.
While the strikes were centered on military targets, footage from the Iranian Red Crescent Society purported to show that one of the blasts hit a wedding near Sirik.

The Red Crescent and Iranian VP Zahra Behrouz-Azar said the attack killed four people, including a child, and left more than 50 others injured.
“A celebration turned to mourning, another proof of US crimes against humanity,” the Iranian government said in a statement. “We share the grief of the bereaved families and people of Sirik.”
The White House referred questions on the attack to CENTCOM.
“We are aware of reports, which originated from Iranian state media. The US military never targets civilians, unlike the IRGC,” US Navy Captain Tim Hawkins, a CENTCOM spokesperson, told The Post.
The allegations harken back to an attack on an Iranian elementary school in Minab that left at least 175 people dead, most of them children, at the start of the war. The US has since been investigating whether it is responsible.
The military assaults come just a day after Trump called for Iranian officials to be tried for “war crimes against humanity” over its brutal January crackdown that left between 7,000 and 30,000 protesters dead, according to human rights groups.
Despite Trump’s threats, the IRGC claimed it launched fresh attacks targeting the US Marine Corps barracks at Camp Titin, in Jordan, according to state media.
“Dear Iran and the Resistance Front, it has unforgettable lessons for the American enemy,” Iran’s still missing Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei wrote on X.
The US renewed its airstrike campaign on Iran on Sunday as it targeted IRGC facilities attempting to place mines in the Strait.
Tehran responded with its own drone strikes against Jordan and the United Arab Emirates, allegedly targeting US forces stationed in the countries.
The Islamic Republic followed up with attacks on two supertankers carrying 4 million barrels of Saudi oil on Tuesday, with the ships reporting strikes from multiple projectiles near Oman’s coast.
There have been at least nine attacks on ships in the Strait of Hormuz this month, with more than 72 recorded since March, according to the United Nations’ International Maritime Organization.
Iranian officials condemned the latest US attacks and vowed to retaliate against US bases and military equipment in the region despite Trump’s threats.
Iran’s armed forces also warned of “heavy blows” to come at the hands of Tehran’s missiles and drones, the Tasnim state outlet reported.
“In response to the U.S. military’s air aggression against targets in Sistan and Baluchestan and Hormozgan, the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran will deliver crushing and shattering blows to the despicable and malevolent American enemy,” Iran’s General Staff of the Armed Forces wrote on Telegram.
The UAE and Qatar have warned that a return to the tit-for-tat attacks along the Strait would threaten stability in the region as they urged both sides to return to the negotiating table.
