Valerie Bertinelli exits Food Network show

Valerie Bertinelli is exiting the Food Network show “Kids Baking Championship” after 12 seasons. “I’ve been avoiding facing what I got confirmation of last night, and I didn’t want to talk about it last night. I wanted to sleep on it because it really hurt my feelings,” the 63-year-old TV star said on Instagram. “…I know it’s business. Budget cuts, right? But it really hurt my feelings to know that I’m not going to be asked back to be on ‘Kids Baking Championship’ really sucks.” Some reports suggested Bertinelli was “let go” from the show, but her manager told Variety that her contract expired and the Warner Bros. Discovery-owned channel opted not to renew it. Bertinelli had co-hosted the series with Duff Goldman since 2015. Bertinelli, known for roles on “One Day at a Time,” “Hot in Cleveland” and “Touched By an Angel,” also had her Food Network show, “Valerie’s Home Cooking,” canceled last year.
