Valerie Bertinelli isn’t afraid to admit to her clumsiness!
On Friday, Nov. 29, the Food Network alum, 64, shared that she recently suffered a wound from a fall — which, according to her, is a common occurrence.
“I continue to have the knees of a 9 year old because I fall far too often than what is comfortable for someone my actual age,” Bertinelli wrote on her Instagram Stories, sharing a selfie in which she made a silly face and showed off a large bandage placed just below one of her knees.
She did not share any more details about the injury.
Bertinelli’s post about her knee injury comes shortly after she opened up about another aspect of her health on social media.
On Sunday, Nov. 17, the former Valerie’s Home Cooking host — who recently split from boyfriend Mike Goodnough after 10 months of dating — revealed in a “scary” and “vulnerable” Instagram post that she had experienced an anxiety attack.
Alongside a video of her hand shaking, the star prefaced her message, writing, “I’ve sat on this post for a day because it’s incredibly vulnerable and that’s always scary to share. But I’m posting because we’re all out here doing our best having a human experience and none of us want to feel like we’re alone in that. 🤍V.”
After a “deep breath,” Bertinelli began by sharing that she suffered a “really bad anxiety attack,” as demonstrated by the clip. She also noted that her “heart is still beating a little rapidly as I write this.”
“I haven’t had one like this in a very, very long time,” continued the star. “A few hours ago, I was weeping uncontrollably, and my heart felt like it was pounding out of my chest. I couldn’t stop shaking.”
Bertinelli detailed that she decided to share her experience because she’s “pretty sure I’m not the only one out here who has experienced this.”
“Gratefully these attacks have become much more infrequent, so this one took me a little bit by surprise today. This is the after effect,” she added.
When Bertinelli is experiencing anxiety attacks, she said she “almost disassociate[s]” and focuses “solely on calming down and finding any road to a more relaxed and peaceful body” because she knows it is the result of “brain overthinking and catastrophizing but my body goes into overdrive and I have no control over it.”

The star finished her post by writing that she is “fascinated by what the human body is capable of” and asking her fans how they cope with similar experiences.
“Tell me I’m not the only one out here 😬 and is there anything that you have also found to be helpful?” Bertinelli wrote. “Anyway…this little bit of vulnerability is brought to you by someone who wants you to know you’re not alone. Love you 🤍.”
