The problems with President-elect Donald Trump’s picks have not been with Democrats but Republicans. Apparently in Trump’s view being accused of having sex and drugs with underage girls is not a disqualifier for an attorney general nomination. Trump himself was accused of randomly walking through dressing rooms in the Miss Teen USA pageant that he owned.
The future chaos coming is the House leadership vote. If we have a protracted fight, we may not have a speaker on Jan. 6 to certify the election. It could shine a light on the importance of the constitutional process that was interrupted by political supporters of Trump in 2016. His term might not start on Jan. 20.
Also on the clock are spending and debt limits. The debt limit has been used by conservatives to counter spending. Trump wants to eliminate the limit to let him cut taxes to the point he knows will be bad for the national debt and spending.
Financial markets could be in a freefall if Republicans don’t agree to just spend as we are. The world is complicated. I am going to sit back and watch the chaos coming. God bless America.
