The Duke Blue Devils football team and the North Carolina Tar Heels will play Saturday (4 p.m., ESPN2) at Wallace Wade Stadium in the latest battle for the Victory Bell.
The undefeated Blue Devils (4-0) will try to snap a five-game losing streak against the Tar Heels (3-1), who are coming off a 70-50 loss to James Madison in Week 4. UNC head coach Mack Brown, who caused a stir with his postgame comments after the loss to the Dukes, has won 13 straight against Duke.
Manny Diaz, the first Duke coach to win his first four games since Fred Goldsmith in 1994, was a defensive coordinator under Brown at Texas. The Blue Devils haven’t gotten off to a 5-0 start since winning their first seven games under Goldsmith.
