It’s Thursday! That means it’s time to open nominations for the next category of The Oregonian’s Readers Choice Awards. (But also, don’t forget to vote for the current category: best burger.)

Next up is the best Indian restaurant in the Portland area.

We’ve tried several new, or newly improved, ones recently. Shera, a food cart in Southeast Portland, had perfectly tender butter chicken. My favorite was Northeast Portland’s Daawat a Ishq. I especially loved the fish pakora.

When our dining critic, Michael Russell, took a look at the area’s buffets back in 2019, his top two picks were both Indian restaurants: Chennai Masala in Hillsboro and Swagat, which has locations in Northwest Portland, Beaverton and Hillsboro.

But enough about what we like! Tell us all about your favorite and nominate it below for the best Indian restaurant honors in our Readers Choice Awards. Nominations are open until 11 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7, 2024. We’ll reveal the finalists on Wednesday, Oct. 9 at oregonlive.com/readers-choice.
