The 2024 presidential campaign is entering the final stretch as Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump jet around from state to state.
With a little more than a month remaining until election day, the next big event is the vice presidential debate between Ohio Sen. JD Vance and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz. Here’s what you need to know about the debate and voting in Delaware.
When is the vice presidential debate?
Vance and Walz will debate Tuesday, Oct. 1 in New York City. The debate will be hosted by CBS News.
The debate will be moderated by “CBS Evening News” anchor and managing editor Norah O’Donnell and “Face the Nation” moderator and CBS News chief foreign affairs correspondent Margaret Brennan.
How to watch the vice presidential debate
The debate will be on CBS. CBS will also allow audiences to watch live news streams through their website.
Who is Norah O’Donnell
Norah O’Donnell is the anchor and managing editor of the “CBS Evening News,” anchor of CBS News Election Specials, including primary, debate and election nights, and a 60 Minutes contributing correspondent. She is covering her seventh presidential election and has interviewed every living president of the United States.
Who is Margaret Brennan?
Margaret Brennan moderates “Face The Nation with Margaret Brennan.” She is also the Network’s chief foreign affairs correspondent based in Washington, D.C. Brennan became moderator of “Face the Nation” in February 2018 and quickly became known for her tough but fair questioning of world leaders, politicians and policymakers.

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2024.
When is the deadline to register to vote in Delaware?
The voter registration deadline is the fourth Saturday before the general election. The deadline for the general election is Saturday, Oct. 12.
Is there early voting in Delaware?
Yes, early voting for the general election begins Oct. 25 and runs through Nov. 3.
How to register to vote in Delaware
There are multiple ways to register to vote in Delaware:

You may register to vote online at ivote.de.gov.

You may register to vote by downloading and printing a form from the Department of Elections website, de.gov/vrapp. Complete your application, sign your name, and submit your completed form to the Department of Elections.

You may call the Department of Elections Office in your County to have a voter registration application mailed to you to complete. Completed voter registration applications for new registrants must be postmarked by Saturday, Oct. 12, for the general election, to make the voter registration deadline.

You may register in person at a Department of Elections office during regular business hours, Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Please bring an ID showing your name and current Delaware address.
