NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) – With just a few hours left until polls close, New York City and New Jersey residents are anxiously awaiting the results of two hotly contested races.
NYC Election Results 2025
In New York, results will likely start rolling in shortly after polls close at 9 p.m. As the votes are tabulated, the city’s Board of Elections will release updates throughout the night.
In the past, New York’s elections have moved quickly. In New York City’s primary election, 90% of the vote had been counted by 10:30 p.m. This was about the time former Gov. Andrew Cuomo conceded the race for the Democratic nomination.
New Jersey Election Results 2025
In 2024, the presidential election was called for Kamala Harris in New York by 9:06 p.m., and 90% of New York City’s votes were counted by 12:25 a.m., according to the Associated Press.
In New Jersey, the polls close at 8 p.m., and results will start pouring in after. In the 2024 election, New Jersey’s results were fully tabulated by 4:21 a.m., according to the Associated Press.
In the 2021 governor election, Gov. Phil Murphy was not declared the winner until over 22 hours later, according to NorthJersey.com.
