A 2025 college football season that began with a 0-2 record for Notre Dame has just one final hurdle standing between the Fighting Irish and a spot in the College Football Playoff.

On the heels of a nine-game win streak, coach Marcus Freeman’s team will host Stanford on Saturday, Nov. 29 at Stanford Stadium in Palo Alto, California.

The Irish are coming off their most commanding victory of the season, a 70-7 thrashing of Syracuse on Nov. 22 led by 171 rushing yards and three touchdowns on just eight carries from Jeremiyah Love. Over his team’s past five games, Love had rushed for 776 yards and nine touchdowns, thrusting himself into the group of frontrunners for the Heisman Trophy.

Notre Dame will take on a Stanford team playing under an interim head coach in Frank Reich, the former Indianapolis Colts and Carolina Panthers head coach. The Cardinal are 4-7 under Reich and are coming off a resounding 31-10 victory against archrival Cal last Saturday.
